Curriculum:
We use School of Tomorrow (ACE) materials. This material
has been in use since 1974. The company has over 300 employees,
and 100 million has been invested in the developement of the
methods and materials
How It Works:
In most grades there are five subject ares: math, english,
social studies, science, and word building (spelling) plus
electives if chosen. Each sibject area is broken into twelve
booklets called PACEs.
The work for each day is planned
and written on goal charts. This insures coninuous progress
through the PACEs.
Each PACE has three sections.
At the end of each section there is a periodic check-up. These
process points canbe reviewed by the parent. At the end of
each PACE is a self-test. This is a review of the entire PACE
and points out any area where the material was not mastered.
After mastering the material
in the PACE, the final test will be given. Each PACE will
take approximately three weeks. The grade for the year is
based on the average of all twelve final PACE tests.
The parent is the coach and
counselor. The material is the teacher.
Admission Requirements:
* Families are required to fill out an application form
for each child. Acceptance is based on character, information
provided, and references.
* Parents are provided a training
program to familiarize them with the ACE materials and methods.
This will help you make the transition to home-schooling successfully.
* A series of diagnostic tests
will be provided for each student. The point of these tests
is to identify the correct level of current learning for placement
into the ACE curiculum. If the student is deficient in some
areas in their current grade, materials will be provided to
attain competency before moving into the grade level programs.
The student will be helped to succeed, regardless of prior
learning failures.
* All parents and students
are expected to attend services at an evangelical church of
your choice.
